Any views? Chicken 02-07-2002, 08:46 PM From what I remember, which isn't much, Matt did start this recently but his background is in the Ensim system, so I think it is a case of him breaking off and doing his only thing after so long, rather than him just jumping into this without any real knowledge of the systems, etc. Some members have used his services, if they show up in searches try contacting them, but from what I recall, people seem to be happy. I haven't used his services so I can't personally tell you whether they are good or not. Kwatt 02-07-2002, 09:42 PM What do you think of the risk if something goes wrong with him... The servives/support/order etc.. could be stuck? remarkable 02-07-2002, 10:02 PM Hello, I feel compelled to answer. Chicken feel free to censor what you feel is 'bad' or 'against the rules'. Remarkable Hosting was founded in August 2001 and started selling to the public Oct. 1 2001. Yes. We are a small family run operation, as is 95% of the other hosts out there. If you are worried about stability then I can only tell you that "Larger is NOT better and not more stable." I'll spare you the examples. Most of my customers came to be from larger hosts. We are growing and after the first 3 months of operation we are cash flow POSITIVE. I've been in this business since 1995. Before starting Remarkable I worked at Ensim. Before that I managed the hosting operations at a host with over 100,000 domains and 750 servers. If you want to know more feel free to contact me. Just click on that button below the post that says 'email' iseletsk 02-07-2002, 10:32 PM I know Matt from the time when he was managing that operation, and I have to tell you - he knows what he is doing. He definatly has the experience/knowledge of running hosting business. NelsonT 02-08-2002, 01:13 AM Originally posted by remarkable Hello, ... Yes. Just click on that button below the post that says 'email' I visited some sites hosted by Remarkablehosting, seem to be very stable and fast. But what I concern is they don't have another redundant connection backbone. Is this very important? It depends. Last year, some hosts reported to be down by DoS/DDoS in WHT, are located in Burst, NAC, Verio as I knew. Even with redundant connection, you still got a lots of other problems. Anyway, I will try their services in the near future. Just my pre-hosting experiences, they're very friendly and respond to every one question I sent to them or in their support forum. You should check this by yourself, and can't wholly depond on other experiences. simba 02-08-2002, 12:38 PM I have been using Remarkable Hosting for almost 1 month, and although I realize it is not much time to render a "fair" evaluation of the service, I must admit that when I compare Matt's receptiveness to my "learning curve" problems in operating my appliance, with that of Infinology/Primemaster/Zerosetup (the hosting company I dropped for Remarkable Hosting), it has been great. Matt's response has always been prompt, courteous and knowledgeable whereby the other guys were obnoxious, arrogant and incompetent from the start. As a reseller I share the concerns about the reliability of my business being tied to that of my hosting company, and after losing more than 50% of my clients with those ". . ." at Infinology, I sure hope that Matt has more professional ethics than that, and continues to earn "our trust". Unfortunately there are NO Guarantees with any hosting company . . .or anything else for that matter, and Matt is right . . .bigger is not always better. Keep up the good work Matt and don't let me down. You'll see . . . our businesses will grow together. I would recommend that everyone give Remarkable Hosting a chance . . .if it does not work out . . .we can always post our experiences on these forums for others to evaluate. Good Luck!
