You may be asking, how can I be comparing free software with something that carries a paid license? But I have seen free software thats much better than those that attract a fee so my question isnt so dumb afterall :)

Ive been using support logic for a while. Its very good for a free program, but it does have some bugs that could cost me. For example, sometimes it doesnt make a note when a customer adds to an existing ticket. Which means that I dont get notified of the ticket, and will only see the message when I check the actual inbox. These checks are hours apart as usually I just log onto the support desk.

Anyhoo, I have been checking out PerlDesk. Ive done a search on here, saw many persons criticizing their support team, but not many comments on the actual performance of the program.

So from those of you who have used PerlDesk before, do you think its a good buy? Or is it no better than my slightly buggy but free Support Logic?

Perldesk is a good software for the price you pay. On the support side, their support is not very active but hey, you really don't need here since it's running smooth. I recommend also to do a search in the forum to see if there's not many complain about them.

Good luck !

Perldesk is a very good pic of software, but then again, it's a bit buggy.

so far i've found a few bugs and report to them, they haven't made any changes yet, and i don't see there are many ppl can get perldesk's windows notification program work.

i still recommand them anyway.

Does any of those bugs you mention include not creating support tickets sometimes when a customer emails in?

Cuz if it does then I might as well stay with Support Logic.

it will create ticket for all incoming emails including spam email as well, so don't worry about it, it will create ticket for sure if you setup piping correctly.

Well Id rather have a support system that creates tickets for everything including spam emails, than one that sometimes doesnt create the tickets at all. :)

I think Im going to purchase this PerlDesk software tommorow and hope to God that it works well and without any hassles.

Up to yesterday a customer sent a message asking 'Monique, you're taking too long to reply to my message?', I say to myself Huh??? What message? only to log into my mailbox and realize that the person has sent an email more than 4 hours before but Support Logic hadnt created a ticket for it, so I was unaware of the fact that the message had been sent.

Not knocking SL. Its great for a free program, but I think its time to step up to something better.

I only hope PerlDesk will not dissappoint me. I would get Kayako, but $200 per year is really kind of steep. Too steep for me anyway.

Well after all this deliberation over whether or not to buy Perldesk. I got up this morning, and on impulse just hopped over to the Kayako site and paid for e-Support. I hope I wont be disappointed.

Kayako is taking forever to send me the license and download link though. Its been over 12 hours since Ive ordered. I dont understand why it has to take so long, anyhow, maybe Im just really really anxious to get it all setup.
