Hello,
We resell dedicated server for a Hong Kong provider (the owner also visits WHT). Everything is fine until yesterday. One of the servers went down and I tried to contact them. Till now (about 1 day), I cannot get any response from them.
Tomorrow, I need to pay them for another dedicated server. Should I hold the payment until they solve the problem?
Thanks
Pang

Better give them an official email to say that you are withholding payment because of the server being down. But best to give them a call directly.

But, they pick up the phone. The payment is for another server for another client. I am afraid they will just suspend the server without contact me...

Just tell them you will pay once the server is up. I dun think that is an unreasonable request, your host shouldnt suspend server for that. Actually it is their duty to get the server up.
I don't think the answer is so simple. The complication is that the payment is not for the server in question and you would be putting a client's server not involved in the problem in jeopardy.
Personally I would not do that to a client. Sure, it may burn you in the end however the chance of affecting two clients with the problem of one is not acceptable. I would keep the non-involved client's server payment current and try other methods of contacting the company. This way the problem stays with the one server and does not affect others under your control.
