I came across WiserHosting.com offering unlimited web space for £40 / year. Has anyone had any experience with this company? What are they like? :)

Seems to be donhost reseller (no comment either way on that as I have no personal experience).

That's neat. I think I'll go register wisesthosting.com (and .net), so that i can be the wisest of the wise hosting.

For the record, WiserHosting.com has not been offering 'unlimited' anything since March 2002, and the hosting packages are pretty well balanced now.

Just being informative, making sure the facts are known to anyone else who comes across the thread.

I have been using WiserHosting for two years now. The service is pretty good as long as you don't need any help. I've been trying to contact their support team for three weeks now. Their support consists of using their messaging system, which they can reply to or not (which is my current problem). If you don't mind calling the UK, they have a phone number. But if you’re the kind that would rather use the messaging, I hope you have the time to wait for a response. I have technically posted 4 times over a 3 week period with no response.

Plus when I signed up they did have the unlimited space. That's the package I got. But when I tried to post over (I forget how much), about 150 MB, they locked me out. I had to post on the message board for more space. Then they bumped me to like 400 MB. Frankly, that was better, but they were like, "you wouldn't ever need more than that" & that made me mad, but I didn't want to switch host again right away. So I had to rearrange my site to only need 400 MB. Of course the unlimited is no longer with us. And apparently neither is the tech support I used for help before.

I haven't had any problems with down time. And the control panel is nothing to write home about.

I currently use 4 different hosts and prefer Apollo Hosting over Wiser, NamesareCheap, or VoyagerHosting. It costs more, but has a great control panel with tons of tools and options, plenty of email, SSL, Spam protection, and just all kinds of other helpful tools. Plus you can park up to 3 domains on one host. And they will point domains. So now I'm hosting 3 sites under one account. All that for like $22 a month.

Well, just so you know, WiserHosting called me today 5/27/4. It has been 3 or 4 weeks since I posted my first support ticket. They were very sorry they had overlooked my ticket. The guy was very nice and gave me a phone number to call them on. 00441803840700. So they did finally respond.
