I'm doing some research on 2U Rack Mountable Servers. Looking for a "turn-key" solution, I don't want to put the machine together myself.
The specs of the servers I'm looking for:
Processor: Pentium III-500 (or higher)
Memory: 265MB RAM
HD: 18Gb SCSI
Can someone direct me to a site where I can find these servers at an affordable rate?
Also, are these 1U servers any good? Anyone have experience with these?
Thanks.

The Linux Store has a pretty good deal going on 2U and 1U systems right now. They say they can even ship them out the same day. Check it out here:

I haven't purchased any of their systems, so I can't speak for their quality. The price is right, though.

I would check out minotaur.com. I've been doing business with the owner John for the past three years. Very good guy, and the company has roughly 10 employees. They have a very professional website, and he can custom build virtually any rackmount server from one server to a large cluster.

For the best, but expect to pay premium rates, try Dell, Compaq, IBM.
I've used all three makes, but have a preference towards the new Compaq DL360's (v.sexy). They are all very resiliant, and you get very good after sales care.

BSDI servers are by far a good deal and rock solid! http://www.tesys.com
This is where we buy all of our servers. They were a small company that made rack mount servers, until BSDI bought them. If you want I can give you the name of the best sales rep in the world, the guy bends over backwards for you. Just drop me a line.
