OK, so i've learned the hard way that Siteturn is crap. I just hope to be able to transfer my mysql database out of there before I move.

They've been hacked yesterday (some dude e-mailing all the users asking for our credit card info through security@siteturn), then my site is always having interruptions in service, and now i've taken a careful look at their terms of service (which is almost good for me, but not perfect)...

So, now I need to move, and suggestions please?

OK, here are my requirements, and any help is much appreciated.

a) 25+ gig bandwidth / month. I get over 100,000 page views a day so I need loads of bandwidth

b) 200+ mb of hdd space

c) cgi/ssi/mysql/perl/php

d) STABILITY! Siteturn crashes every 1/2 hour, so I really don't need that.

e) COST-EFFECTIVE. I realize that with so many page views, I can join some networks and get some cash for banner space (anyone have any suggestions?) But before I do that, I need to find a decent hosting service that's affordable for me, a university student (the broke kind =).

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME!

Kind regards

If you mean adult host, try www.exmasters.com.

With that kind of bandwidth, you better look into a dedicated server.

Hopefully in a year's time I'll have a good banner system setup so that I can make some money to pay for dedicated hosting.

That would be sweet. =)

Any clues on how to get some good banner programs? I applied to fastclick while my server was being transfered, hence they saw a blank website and rejected my application! doh!

A good cgi banner rotater script I use is Web Adverts:
http://awsd.com/scripts/webadverts/

As for ad networks I use and recommend http://www.burstmedia.com
Mind you with that much traffic you could try for http://www.doubleclick.com

Thanks for the tips guys, especially you SolSec... I'll go get the ad rotator and will apply for double click once my site is up and running again... I'm currently with Serve-You.net as they've kindly offered to sponsor us (well, after I hounded Dan for it! =)

Let's hope this goes well, and that eventually I can afford a dedicated host!

No worries raine, just a word of advise though. Most online publishers are struggling to pay their costs at the moment. The gravy days are long gone :( Oh and make sure you fit skyscraper ads into your design (around 120x600 size). They are the hot advertising format at the moment and command the highest price. A few well placed affliate programs wouldn't go amiss either, maybe some software, hardware and magazine programs may be appropriate for your site.
