View Full Version : Basic Host...
monster 02-06-2002, 04:36 AM I was using Aletia but am looking for a switch, I require:
*nix Server
250meg Space
15+ Subdomains
3+ MySQL Database
Multi-Hosted domains (if possible)
PHP, CGI etc
E-Mail Pop, forwards, auto-responders
Good support/uptime
I am looking for under $10/month and prefferably a host which runs it all automatically (not phpwebhosting).

These guidelines are here for a reason to make this place not become overrun with marketing.
You will need to specify the amount of bandwidth you require? That will help you decide on a host. There are hundreds of hosts who patrol these boards, you won't find it hard.
Be careful and look for that support systems by sending them lots of emails to see what they are like with response. Possibly setup an uptime monitor on their domain? Though they won't necessarily host their site on the same servers but chances are they will be in the same rack.
Last but not least look don't go for someone too cheap. 100Gb/month for $2 is just not going to work. Look for realistic data rates bearing in mind that most hosts don't get quality bandwidth for < $1-2
HTH, If you need any more help looking for a host, feel free to ask.

Well, until this post is in the request forum, you should restain yourself from marketing your own service. What's a few hours going to do to you?
A moderator should move this to the request forum...

First of all, this is not your forum. You have no right to call anyone idiot. I suggest you assume the title yourself.
You know the rules are there for a reason. By not observing them, you make a bad image of yourself. If we allow people to post anything they want, this wouldn't be webhostingtalk.com, and I wouldn't be here.

Things like this can easily get you banned.. I would edit it before chicken gets to read it.
mdrussell 02-06-2002, 07:01 PM The guidelines are in place for a reason - to stop the forum becoming overridden with ads, and to try and keep the post quality at a reasonable level.
Keeping advertising contained to one section is a great idea - if you don't like it, no one asked you to continue visiting this board...
priyadi 02-07-2002, 03:10 PM Freedom from ads is the primary reason I visit this forum regularly. Not that ads is bad, but if it is allowed, the good posts are usually get lost.
For tazd9t9, calling moderators bad names won't help your reputation here. You really should have PMed the person yourself.
