I can't wait till July because I will be able to finally move host and get away from all of Aletias outages. I should have never paid the yearly price, but I did :( People kept telling me that a host can be good for a while but eventully the support will die down and the down times will be longer, and this has happened.

I remember being able to always speak to them on AIM. I used to even chat with them because they were not busy. Support used to be within 20 minutes - 6 hours for all problems. My account was even setup in about 30 minutes.

Downtime was close to never and there were not "continual" problems on servers. I am going to signup elsewhere but first using there 1 month trial to find a host which is best. I am currently looking at a few. Most of them $10/month but seem to be better then Aletia.

Thanks for the early times Aletia but recently you have gone way down hill. If anyone has any suggestions plz post here.

HostMatters - www.hostmatters.com - I moved to them from Aletia... much better service. My site in my profile is hosted there.

Thanks :)

How long have you been with them?

As far as I know, you can leave Aletia early and they'll return the money for the portion you didn't use.

Aletia's performance isn't that bad really. It's their support that has gone down the tube.

I heard you can't go wrong with hostingmatters.com. Top-notch customer service and reliable servers. But if you were with Aletia for the 10GB+ of bandwidth, then you'll be paying a lot more for the same bandwidth allowance.

Personally I don't really understand why it happened. I have an account there and it seems there's no problem at all. I sent a request several days ago, and then, got replies and the 2nd reply within hours.

But bad things may happen. If it's real, you can always check www.downtownhost.com. Jorge is a frequent visitor here and his replies are always fast and helpful.

Good luck.
