I think this would be a very useful forum. It would facilitate good deals on hardware and provide a much more trusted seller/buyer relationship than can be found on ebay and realistic prices for used or new goods. There's little room for fraudulent sellers in a forum like WHT.

I would suggest requiring ~20 posts before allowing posts to this forum.
No links to ebay auctions unless noted in topic.
No links to online stores or other advertising.
No special offers or business postings.

I frequent another forum on an unrelated topic that has a for sale forum that works extremely well.

Their rules are as follows:

There have been many posts in the For Sale/Wanted Forum by members who don't accurately complete the SUBJECT box. This is the field that creates the link that you click on to get to the thread. Please try to use these simple abbreviations to aid everyone in surfing the For Sale/Wanted forum.

FS--for sale
FT--for trade
FS/FT--for sale or trade
WTD--wanted
WTB--wanted to buy
WTT--wanted to trade
EBAY--for sale on ebay(links to ebay homepage)

Also include the item. If it's many items, then provide a short list (i.e. "FS: Motors, Props, Batteries, etc.")

POSTING GUIDELINES (not all-inclusive):

- **PLEASE use PMs or email whenever possible to keep the discussion traffic to a minimum. Threads that do not comply with the above will be closed or removed**

- When selling here, include an asking price for your items. If you're not sure of their value, also put "OBO" (or best offer) in your post. Auctions will not be allowed.

- If the item is listed in Ebay, you MUST note that in the thread title. We are not in the business of advertising for auctions therefore the moderators will close all Ebay ads as they are seen.

- Instead of deleting the items listed in your threads as they are sold, let's simply annotate a *SOLD* next to the item leaving the price that it was sold for. This will enable members to use your threads for reference in the future when considering buying and selling items.

- You will be allowed two (2) “bumps” within your FS thread. Further “bumps” will be summarily deleted by the moderator(s) without notice. A "bump" is defined as a post that contains no added pertinent information (price drops, pics, etc.) and is intended to merely bring the post to the top of the forum list.

The moderators in For Sale are here for that reason, not to ensure that transactions go smoothly. YOU, the forum user are responsible for your own transactions. YOU are the one spending your hard-earned money or making that trade. "CAVEAT EMPTOR" or "BUYER BEWARE" is the watch term for this forum. As stated in the forum description, "Note: ****.com assumes no responsibility for transactions that take place via this forum." The moderators will step in to ensure that the site policies are maintained. If you make the deal and it goes sour, YOU alone must bear that responsibility and work to correct it in a civil manner. The moderators will not be able to help in this matter. Do your homework BEFORE you hit that SEND button at PayPal and increase your odds of success.
