Yes, they added a new feature to control who can use the su command.

As of 4.4.0 build 25, you should be able to add and remove users from the "wheel group" in WHM. Check WHM for any new links on the side!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that.

Yup, that seems to have fixed it. Make sure you log out and log back in

perhaps you mean: suExec ??

If i click on it i become error:
suExec is currently disabled and missing (rebuild apache?)

Two different things.

suEXEC is an Apache module that provides additional security for CGI scripts.

su is what allows you to become root on a server. But you have to be a member of the root wheel to become root. It sounds like CPanel/WHM does not automatically new users to the root wheel (a good idea in my opinion).

mmhh... i supposed suEXEC because i don't find anything else on the WHM to do it ......

just update WHM/CPanel but nothing... can still not access my server....

What is the output of 'ls -l /bin/su'? Somebody (or something) might have changed its permission or ownership.

bash$ ls -l /bin/su
-rwsr-x--- 1 root wheel 14188 Mar 7 2000 /bin/su
bash$

What is your telnet/ssh login name?

Than name must get permission to SU so must be added to the root wheel.
Go to that option in WHM, click the login name you use and click ADD USER TO ROOT WHEEL.

That's it.

Problem is that i have not such option in the WHM.
It seems that CPanel upgrade has not add this option !!!

is there a way to do it manually ??

Thanks

This will update your Cpanel to the lastest version, and give you that option, its in WHM when your done upgrading..

ssh into your server as root. If your running Redhat 7.x then you can just log straight in as root unless you've changed this and run the /scripts/upcp

Sometimes the upcp in WHM craps out. I was stuck on build 90 of version 4.2 until i ran it manually and now it's working fine again and auto updating like it should. What build does your WHM say?

vers. is:
WHM Version 4.5.0
Cpanel Version 4.4.0-STABLE_26

Now i can go "su" but the wheel group is still not in the WHM...

suport.cpanel.net might be a better place to ask these kind of questions.

Change the group manually in the console.
