---

Don't know if it has been posted before, but this is a certain FreeWHT rip and I just wanted to make sure iNET knew that. (Even though I think they do since the user registered with that name here, "webdesign-talk", has his account disabled.)

The guy didn't even change the name of the images dir:

Yep, terrible rip indeed. It's my pleasure, just wanted to make sure iNET was on top of this.

Wow, that's a terriable rip... could've at least done a better job by changing colors or whatever... But no... even have to include where you downloaded in the path... seesh...

iNet need to get that guy shut down.

He is wasting iNet banner ad's (bottom of page: he kept the same banner ad code) - I am quite sure the advertisers will be outraged if iNet do not act immediately.

I will notify them, and I urge others to do the same.

Simon

I don't think it will count though, im pretty sure there ad software only allows the ad's to be counted as being served from the domains that iNet sets it up on.

Do I just go to iNet site to report it? Or a special email, PM or what?

Pathetically bad, funny rip.

iNet should sue this kid's ***, he's got it coming for him anyhow.

OK I've gotten a response from anon-e-mouse. She said she has contacted iNET about the matter.

You can use the Helpdesk... www.webhostingtalk.com/helpdesk. This reminds me of the recent rip of PowWeb's welcome page where the ripper even used the same slogan from PW's page.

I didn't see your previous post when I started typing my reply and had to walk away from the computer for a few to put the cat out! Glad it's being handled.

Umm, I don't think the first one is a rip, folks. Unless they also have access to the member database, it appears freewht.com is a mirror of the original...

He sure picked the wrong way to get visitors to his site :P

freewht.com is owned by iNET. There are several domains that iNET registered that point to the same mboard.

I searched the whois and it shows Inet does own the freewht.com domain.

What?!

My friend, iNET does not own www.webdesign-talk.com, as you can see, the owner of that website ripped the images from www.freewht.com which IS owned by iNET. As I stated in my first post he didn't even changed the name of the images directory when he ripped the images.

This is a very clear rip.

EDIT: I think you thought that freewht.com is the ripper. Well, freewht.com is owned by iNET and is relatively new, webdesign-talk.com is the ripper....

OIC! I thought you were saying both domains were rips! M/N :)

iNet should be thankfull, as the 'Advertising Info' in the footer section of the ripped site links to iNet.

Why should they be thankful?

This guy has ripped one of their sites, and is possibly costing their advertisers money.

Maybe I should have mentioned that I was intending to make fun of the ripper as he did not bother to remove that link.

Hmm, this makes me ask the question if peoples ad-servers are really all that secure.

If I were to take the banner placement code from a site such as WHT, and write a script to display it 1000 times on a site, and refresh the page a couple times, would that actually chew up advertisers banner impressions?

/me goes to make sure my adserver only allows requests from my sites/domains.

Damn...he at least monitors the site. In a matter of 5 minutes...I register, I post a comment, my post is removed, I am unregistered as a member, and my IP is banned. I don't think he wants the word to get out that he stole from a big company.

How about everyone register in 10 minute intervals and post at that time and lets see how fast he can keep on top of it all...LOL

LOL. He's underage. He was complaining a few weeks back about not being able to pay for his server because he didn't have any money in "his bank account".

He's also registered on these forums as patriotcow and webdesign-talk as the original poster said. I smell a multi-account ban. :D

This Stephen Barnes fellow also owns goldhoster.com and sunhoster.com (and a few more).

I won't be surprized if more of his sites would be rips.

Can't afford his hosting account? :)
He has a hosting "company" and it seems he's on a dedicated server.
