Aloha,

A friend of mine told me that perldesk used to be free, and that when it was free, he used it.

I asked him for a copy of his free version just so i could check it out a bit, and possibly use it in the future.

Now, i have the .tar.gz for it, and i'm curious.

Would the perldesk people be able to take action against me if i were caught using using a version of the software which was at previously free?

Thanks.

No, there's nothing wrong with you using the free version, but believe they wouldn't like it that your friend gave it to you, which is illegal par their tos.

sorry, it was perldesk. as for perldesk, actually you can use any version earlier than 1.8 at any domain, since your friend gave it to you for free, you don't need to pay.

perldesk 2 is out for months, it's very nice, this time you can't get a copy anymore, it's licensed based on domain now.
