My brother is trying to use BIT TORRENT from his computer down stairs and im using a network setup using Internet Connection Sharing but when he goes to download somthing he gets the error.....

Could'nt Listen - Unable to forward port via UPnP

any ideas people? I think i need to forward a port on my computer but any ideas on what port needs forwarding?

upnp is port 5000 i belive.

I believe the default range for upnp is 6881 - 6999 .. At least thats why my torrent client had listed and thats why I opened and forwarded myself.

I have forward those ports on my computer and it still does not work on my brothers computer downstairs. works fine on mine its just my brothers thats getting the error message.

Are you, or do you have to redirect the traffic from those ports to your bro's computer via the router ?

no im not using router im using a hub.

and ICS....Internet Connection Sharing.

stay away from ICS....use hardware routing.
