I have a company that provides physical products. Using OSCommerce I have built one site so far showcasing most of the products. Now I would like to create some more sites using OSCommerce that will be marketed to specific types of customers. However my web design skills are limited and so is my time, therefore I am seeking someone who can design a layout and customize a few things like how the shopping cart looks and the product detail page. If you know anyone who does a good job at this (the cheaper the better) please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Budbiss,
If I can make a recommendation - switch to Zen Cart. It will be ALOT easier for you to customize - both layout and functionality - as it inherently comes with most of this functionality...
If you are determined to stay on osCommerce, there are several good providers that can assist you. Most companies can work with either Zen Cart or osCommerce - as the base code between the 2 is very similar....
Hope this helps...

<i>any idea on how well it spiders?</i>
what does that mean?
ZenCart is, effectively, osCommerce with a bit of tidying up and fiddling about added to it. It's a fork that's improved the original and is easier to customise. They also have a good policy on upgrades too. Otherwise, it *is* osCommerce.

Well - ZenCart most certainly started as a fork to osCommerce - however, alot more has gone into it then just tidying up the code. In fact, very large portions of the code have been completely rewritten.
Additionally, alot of the changes around SEO. Therefore, I think the question of how well it spiders is a fair one - as it is significantly better then osCommerce in this capacity.
