What is the second network connection for on the back of the Raq 4? Is this for redundancy or can you actually connect this to another Raq 4 and have the two systems mirror each other?
Thanks,

You could assign another IP address to it and have 2 connections going into your raq. __________________________ Keith yeatsie 02-06-2002, 10:03 AM You need 2 network ports for StaQware. What is StaQware you say ? How it works it uses the 2nd network interface to syncronise the servers system and file structure/files together so you have 2 identical raqs all the time.. So if one decides to fail the seccond will un-hash its IP addresses so it is working on the same IPs the first one was working on... It uses the first interface to connect to the internet and you ( duh ) but they both actually watch each other to make sure that they are both active and healthy, thats how it works out if it is down or not.... StaQware is free, but is slightly buggy :) you can download it from http://asiapac.cobalt.com/support/download/staqwareraq4.html you need a pair of either 3i's or 4i's for the software to work but i tell you, if you have a spare pair of raQ 3i's or even 4s its a fun thing to have a play with Sam |
