Would you signup with a host using PayPal/2Checkout/Revecom

Why or Why not

Yes. Not only because I am using it myself :)

It actually feels safe not giving away my CC number to anyone but the third-party service.

Doesn't matter to me one bit. The person buying is relatively safe as far as assurance of getting said service, (some might say too assured heh).

it's funny though, because you think that only small hosts use 2checkout, etc... but when I was looking around, I saw that aletia.com uses 2checkout and revecom, and they have a fair amount of customers. In my opinion, I really don't care what a host uses...:)

A verified paypal host is good with me....and my host uses Paypal as well. Nice cuz I don't have to give out my credit card info or I can have it come right out of my checking account and no one needs to know my checking account info.

I have found many people will not and that is the more important question.

A large percentage of people will not sign up using Paypal because (1) they don't want to go through the registration process or (2) they see the host as less legitimate.

With Revecom and 2checkout the problems are lessened as they appear to a customer more like a gateway than a PayPal type processor. The process is still straight-forward.

A host that uses PayPal as its main processor will get less clients

Thats just what I think really because of the signup process

;)

We've used Revecom for over a year now and have found their mix of service, support, and price to be well worth it. There have been a few reports on here of some clients having trouble but our experience has been satisfactory. We have also found that our customers like the idea that their CC details are handled by a third-party. Revecom's fraud screening has proven to be on the money too.
But....we've opened our merchant account and will begin to move to our own billing system in the next month or two. Once you start to process more than about $1000 a month a regular merchant account begins to become more cost-effective.

That's what I hate about 3rd party processors mostly.

When you do get a real merchant account lets say you have 250

customers then you have to ask them for the cc info what could be
a pain. Some don’t even know that you were using a 3rd party
processor and would be surprise others just get upset, I think it would of been good if you could of get the cc info at signup because most hosting company will eventually get their own merchant account and that’s a problem I see.

I agree that it is a pain to begin the migration away from a third-party solution to a genuine merchant account. It can be made easier for everyone involved by keeping current customers on Revecom and only processing new clients with your merchant account. Once the Revecom customers come up for renewal you can move them over. IMHO, it's better than moving everyone at once. Less confusion and hassle = happy customers = happy host.
Just my $.02 :)

That's where you will get the pain when it comes time to move them fom revecom to your new merchant account !!!!

Thats what I ment, I did not mean while their contract is still valid because that would be stupid ! ! !
