Hello all, great board first of all. Hoepfully I can get an answer I have been searching for.

I recently purchased a domain for 17 bux for the next 2 years(godaddy.com) and I want to get a host now, I will be having a fansite, which means many pictures and videos(mpg..so large) and I have been trying to find a host with a combination of both large disk space/transfer rate/price(15-20 monthly) and allowing mpg files most importantly. I saw a post including this webhost, http://www.www-hosting.net/hosting.html and I liked their plan of 400MB/10gig/17.95...is this

1. A good host
2. do you know of any other comparable hosts with maybe more disk space
3.does anyone know if it supports all file types(i.e. mpg) i couldnt find any info on the site about this.

1) I haven't heard of www-hosting before, so can't say anything good/bad about them.

2) I suggest you check out www.f5hosting.com. They have a similar plan the one you're interested in, and before I went dedicated I used them for 6 months. Their prices may not be the absolute lowest (but definitely not the highest either), but their support is excellent should you need it... www.tera-byte.com is good for the money too...

3) MPG files are allowed by any host (afaik). MPG is a client side technology and your server doesn't have to 'support' it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

sorry, I mispoke, i dont mean "support" i mean that some web hosts forbid mpg/mp3 files ont heir servers.

You must have seen plenty of threads on Gearhost.

They are pretty good, i have just joined and as long as you aren't thinking of any illegal content; I think gearhost can serve you best.

I am sure there are many hosts out there who would be best for your need, but gearhost is certainly one of the good one.

There platinum package is only $15 month so it is well in your budget. Its pretty good and quite comprehensive.
