View Full Version : Looking for a good PHP/MySQL host
JohnM 11-27-2000, 01:49 PM I'm looking for a host with the following:
100MB or more
2+ GB bandwidth
Perl/CGI
Control Panel
PHP4
Multiple MySQL databases
Good support!
I would really LIKE the following features:
Telnet
Subdomains
Additional FTP accounts
MySQL in control panel - meaning I can manage my MySQL db's from within the control panel without e-mailing support or whatever
Thanks,
John
brainbox 11-27-2000, 02:08 PM It would help if everyone had a way of contacting you John.
You can set this sites preference to show email, which doesnt really show email at all, but rather allows people to click on a mail icon and send you an internal message through webhostingtalk.com
Just some advise.
Adam
JohnM 11-27-2000, 02:18 PM I wasn't registered when I posted that message... anyway, all my contact info is in my profile or below this post...
Martie 11-27-2000, 02:21 PM You might want to have a look at this list, although it does not list host features etc, you will have to check them out individually.

We have the php3 at HostCaters, but perhaps on the listing there are surely some that have php4.
I do know http://www.pureideasplus.com
has the php4....and excellent support
Good Luck!

Let me make it very clear : you are *not* allowed to plug your own company in whatever shape, form or matter. You must rely on others to recommend you. There is no room for negotiation on this matter.

So where are all the moderators??!!
apace 11-27-2000, 04:10 PM That's Funny.
JohnM 11-27-2000, 04:38 PM Argh, forgot to mention - I'm looking for around $10-15/month
yadnum 11-27-2000, 06:04 PM I would recomend Unitedtec, I have heard nothing but good things about this host, as well as my own experiences with them. Their support is excellent, and they are sure to have a plan that meets your needs. I hope that helps.

JohnM 11-27-2000, 06:24 PM It seems they only have 1 mysql database....
I really only need 2 databases...

We do not appreciate shameless plugs on this board, and failure to comply will mean your host will be banned without question next time.
The CDS.

riffola 11-28-2000, 08:36 PM They've got everything you need, and you just need to ask them for a 2nd database, and they'll add it for free.

Man, it really looks like those mods are on the ball....BC is working overtime ;)

You were saying, Greg? :D
Man it looks like the mods have their work cut out for them. These last few threads have been horrible for hosts plugging their companies. Good job CDS , keep up the good work

shellx 11-28-2000, 11:32 PM Sorry guys, just saw that the guy ontop of me made a plug for his company. I would like to retract my previous comment.
Administration 11-28-2000, 11:38 PM I would also like to apologise for not catching the other ad - that situation has been remedied.
shellx 11-28-2000, 11:43 PM John,
I would recommend you check out futurequest. From what I hear they are very good (though a bit more expensive than other hosts, they provide good support). I am in no way related to futurequest, just giving a good pointer to a very high quality company in the webhosting industry.
