Hello
Is anyone using the API's from Bulkregister.com and if so, how does it link to your online payment system?
Thanks
Gordon

We use a little bit of PHP glue to make it work with CyberCash. We have never had any problems with it so far and BulkRegister support is top notch.

Bulkregister's support always take 24 hrs to reply my emails and sometimes cannot help solving problem but delay my valuable time.

Well I always phone them and get problems sorted straight away, usually while I am on the phone.

jakis ... KDAWebServices is right about their support, you just have to learn how to deal with them, every time I call they try to give me the "send us an e-mail..." routine, I curse them for 30 seconds, demand to talk to somebody else, they get tired of me and solve the problem right there and then ... worked all 3 times I neded to call support :D
Ovearall .. I like them .. good prices, Ok suport :)

Their server rearrange your nameserver order. to which you might not want that result.
I once arrange nameservers to
ns1.mydomain
ns4.mydomain
ns3.mydomain
ns2.mydomain
then they automatically rearrange them to
ns1.mydomain
ns2.mydomain
ns3.mydomain
ns4.mydomain

Add to CRego3D that they always delayed the problems if you submit email to their support instead of phone.

jakis, I just found this in the FAQ section, it pertains to the order of the nameservers:
################################################
BulkRegister.com does not necessarily determine the order that the
nameservers appear in the domain record. For instance, if you insert
nameservers into a domain record through your BulkRegister.com
account, the order may be reversed when the nameservers are actually
input into the Registry record at the VeriSign Global Registry
(formerly Network Solutions, Inc.). VeriSign Registry
says:
"The Registry database doesn't maintain any notion of name
server primacy. That is, there's no importance attached to the order
in which the servers are associated with a domain at the Registry
level. Association of 'primary' and 'secondary'name servers happens
at the local DNS server level and does not need to be reflected
within the Registry."
This means that the order the nameservers
appear in the domain record does not have any effect on how the
domains will resolve. It is actually the nameserver machines
themselves who determine which one is actually the "primary" and
"secondary."
So, for example, when you use a browser to locate a
website, the nameserver that you will first be directed to is a
completely random choice, taken from the list of nameservers provided
in the domain record. If you are directed to the "secondary", it is
the nameserver software itself that should then direct you to the
"primary". Once you are directed to the "primary", the nameserver
software should then give you the correct location of the
webserver.
We have found, however, that if you need to have your
nameservers switched for cosmetic reasons, you may be able to follow
the directions below:
1.If you have just created a new domain,
or have recently modified your nameservers but have never deleted
just the first nameserver:
a.) Login to your BulkRegister.com
account
b.) Click on "list domains"
c.) Click on the domain you
wish to modify
d.) Choose the option, "to modify nameservers use
this form"
e.) Place check marks in the appropriate "modify"
boxes
f.) Put the nameservers in the correct order
g.) Click
"submit" and "apply"
2. If you have ever deleted or modified
just the first nameserver in the domain record, use the following
steps:
a.) Login to your BulkRegister.com account
b.) Click on
"list domains"
c.) Click on the domain you wish to modify
d.)
Click on "to modify nameservers use this form"
e.) Place check
marks in the appropriate "modify" boxes, which will cause the
nameservers to be deleted from the record.
f.) Click "submit" and
"apply"
g.) Click on "list domains"
h.) Click on the domain you
wish to modify
i.) Click on "to add more secondary nameservers use
this form"
j.) Add the nameservers in the appropriate order
k.)
Click "submit" and "apply"

I also phone Bulkregister whenever I need help, looks like that's the best way to contact them.

I don't know about bulkregister, but I'm very happen with opensrs. They seem to answer this emergency support within an hour. I like that fact that you can write your own client to talk to their system, but thats probably cause I'm a perl junkie.

I agree that opensrs people and system is far better than competitors at the same price.

Thank you all for your replies.
Its a medium term objective to sort out my domain registration system, but its much easier to choose when you hear people's real experiences.
Thanks again

I second that. Their support resolves some of our questions over the phone and respond quickly to email.

Hello everyone
After looking at the options I decided to go with Opensrs.
The main reason was the slightly lower base price and the ability to register.co.uk.
Unfortunately they charge more for.co.uk than I pay for them retail but at least the system is automated.
I faxed the contracts back to Opensrs over the weekend and am just waiting for confirmation so I can start building the Interface pages.
