does anyone get some infos ??

and do they have some prospectives ??
i've seen many registrars giving them for free ...

Obviously, .com names are preferable and the same name in a .com will always be worth more. But .info names are useful for search engine optimization and down the road, they will hopefully become more popular.

The registry, Afilias.info, started a several month promotion of giving them away to the registrars for free as a way to increase awareness of the TLD and increase their number of .info registrations.

I believe they have almost doubled the number of total .info registrations in just a couple of months, they have all of us talking about the domain extension .info on forums like this, and next year hopefully the majority of these new .info names will be renewed.

It was a clever gamble by Afilias that I think will pay off for them next year.

And, for us, free is always good. ;)

Even if 1/3 of all names registered during this promo are renewed, affilias and the registrars that offered the free .info's win.
