Dear all,

I need to buy a .ac.uk domain name for an academic instituion in the uk but I dont know how since these dont seem to be on the open market anywhere.

Any help on this one?

yeah I'd headed over there already actually and eventually found the answer that all .ac.uk domains are registered through JANET (the Joint Academic Network in the UK).

It turns out an ISP needs to contact them directly.
