Does anyone know how versed they are?

I have my email on my site as a jpg. Do you think that's enough to prevent it from being harvested, or do I need to add other things to make the image illegible by bots?

That should suffice - as long as you do not have a a href to it :)

I usually use some type of JS method myself & that seems to help.

Just <img src="email.gif" />, if you want a link I have a contact form on the site, plus a link to my portfolio with another contact form.

So I suppose it should do.

That should be fine, although I guess it won't be long before spambots can ready image files  It is incredible what they can read already with the measures people take.

Yeah. I know sites like AIM.com have their words bubbly with backgrounds and lines and other things. I can barely read it at times. :stickout:

Email harvesters wont be able to get your email address from a jpg file.. so dun wry... that's why sign ups at forum always uses a verification method that uses a pic...

Yes but a lot of them even have weird text types, and I know IPB has random text types per image.

So hopefully we'll be safe for a few years.
