Not many people taking about hdd temperature. I measure harddisk temperature using SpeedFan 4.02 (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) and stress it with iometer.99.10.20 (http://developer.intel.com/design/servers/devtools/iometer/form.htm?download=DOWNLOAD%21) . Anybody know if the high disk temperature under load for a long time affect its performance & lifespan ?

Hard drive performance would not seem to be afected by heat, untill that is the hard drive goes down.

Life/reliabilty of a hard drive is affected by temp.

Try and keep computer case / racks cool, air con rooms help here.

Fit cooling fans to each hard drive.
