View Full Version : Email via everyone.net
PerfCircles 02-02-2002, 10:38 AM Has anyone got email service through everyone.net. I signed up on Jan 31 and they have not set up my account as yet, nor have I received any correspondence form them. When I log in, I am told something like - your email account has not been set up. please check the email address that you gac for instructions. The problem is i have received NO EMAILS from them and their link(s) to Support are DEAD. So I have absolutely no way of contacting them. Meanwhile, they have taken my money.
I am so mad, my head could explode. Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with the bozos at everyone.net?

I hope this helps. :) If you can't get things sorted out, you may want to look into BigMailBox as an alternative.
PerfCircles 02-02-2002, 02:17 PM WoW! I cannot thank you enough - I am going to call them IMMEDIATELY. Wish me luck.
Will keep you posted...
PerfCircles 02-02-2002, 02:24 PM What a shock. The phone numbers only connect you to voice mail and hone support is only available for "premium" customers. Every one else has to go to their website, where the "Support" link does NOT WORK and there are not email addresses for calling support.
Any more suggestions on how to deal with these hoodlums?
PS I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau for what that is worth.
avara 02-02-2002, 02:30 PM They sound a lot like Network Solutions to me... When I asked them whether they had received my fax, they politely informed me that they could only tell me if I paid for "premium support", or something along those lines.
I don't know the following form is only meant for people who have purchased premium support (I think), but you might still want to try it:
http://www.everyone.net/main/html/webforms_partnerpremium.html
Lastly you might also want to try emailing billing@everyone.net. I think I saw that address mentioned somewhere on their site.
I hope you get this sorted out.
PerfCircles 02-02-2002, 02:47 PM Sent them an email and a fax regarding the issue. Also told my CC company to dispute the charge and will deluge them with missives until I can:
a. get the matter resolved
OR
b. get enough evidence to report them to BBB.
ebird 02-02-2002, 05:30 PM How much do you pay? I think if you pay $10 something, you may just get a paided hosting, then setup pop3 accounts there.
If you prefer webmail, the paid hosting usually have a webmail access. Or you can get an account at fastmail.fm and then collect the mail there. The server is reliable so far, no ads, no taglines.
MadCool 02-02-2002, 11:55 PM Everyone.net support is SOOO SLOW. I emailed them and received a reply over a week later. I do like their web based email service. It's way better than BigMailbox.
Skeptical 02-03-2002, 02:42 AM Tell them you want a refund asap if they don't respond within 1 day you will do a chargeback. Make them think you have made up your mind to quit. That might get their attention. If not just do a chargeback and take your business elsewhere. You don't want this type of business relationship.
PerfCircles 02-03-2002, 11:00 AM Guys, I am quitting with Everyone.net. This kind of stress I do not need. I guess I will go with a hosting company (since I have to get a host anyway) and just do the email through them.
Question - is my email address/domain name "locked" with Everyone.net even though they have not provided me with service? i.e., do I have to do anything to start up with another provider?

As long as you are the owner of the domain name in question, no. :) Once you sign up with a web hosting account, you would simply change the DNS servers assigned to your domain name (the host you signed up with will give you instructions/help on how to do this, and it's simply a matter of logging into the control panel of your registrar, editing a field, and hitting OK).
Most hosting companies these days provide a lot of email accounts, as well as webmail access.
PerfCircles 02-03-2002, 11:41 AM Huh! I had no idea. Here are my requirements:
1. MS SQL Server
2. Initially 10 MB of space - more as we go along
3. Ability to have at least 100 users at a time
4. Future capacity for a forum.
What specs (bandwidth, etc.) do you think I need?
Thanks
Angel78 02-03-2002, 03:19 PM 10 mb for 100 users? e-mail users?
ebird 02-04-2002, 01:01 AM I think you mean 100 users on your site at the same time, right?
For the bandwidth, you should tell us what's the site for and how much traffic do you have.
Anyway, check downtownhost.com.
