Acctually they do....but a better way is to enter into competitions: You'll get a reward, but only if you are acctually any good.
May be worth doing some free ones too...but then where's the fun in that :D

You can doubt me if you like, but on WHT many people have started out with a few free logos to begin to build their portfolio.
Unless you are offering a complete satisfaction deal where I only pay after the logo is done and I like it. I would not pay for a logo from somebody with no portfolio.
I actually thought about that and I guess it does sound like a good idea. Ok, new thought. If anybody wants a free logo, go to www.tcdesign.org/xtc/index.php
I will do the first four for free, but I prefer that you have a WELL designed web site. If I think it's designed WELL, we can do business.
There, sound better?:D
danushman 02-04-2002, 01:11 AM Omek,
Quality art work is in high demand. I suggest that you take the time to build a portfolio of your best logos, not your first four.
I also suggest that you do a lot more than four to start with. Great designers such as YellowFive.com did not start getting multiple hundred or even multiple thousand dollar design deals from scratch. They first built an effective, attractive site and a great portfolio, then got clients.
With that said, I am not putting you down, but rather suggesting that you re-evaluate your business plan. You won't, and I stress won't, get any paying customers without a large, extensive and high quality portfolio, so do some free art for a while then enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Sorry to get on a rant here, but it seems that Omek is just out to get rich quick doing logos. I really hate it when people think "Hey, look, I got a cable modem and a web site. Where the heck is my million dollar bill?" The Internet, just like anything else, takes work to make money in...
Ya, that's true. However, I'm only 17 so I'm not really a person in my 30's trieing to get a million in a few days.**I was being sarcastic when saying the first four, I realize that I'll need a lot of them to choose from and use in my portfolio. I know I'm not going to get tons of money right off the bat. I'm just trieing to make a buck on the side. Is that so bad? And by the way, I have a 56k modem:D. I have a 400Mhz iMac and I use Dreamweaver 4 and Photoshop 6. I'm not one of those people who use FrontPage to make a web site and hop online and say "Give me money!" I just thought I'd make that known. However, I am new to selling and marketing things on the internet so I shall heed your words and do logos for free for awhile.
Hope I didn't come off mean :) .
PorkChup 02-05-2002, 04:35 AM Hiya! Just wonderin'... if your 17, only have 56k, and expect to earn money making logos, then how did you afford Photoshop 6 and Dreamweaver 4? That's a lot of money there! I would be expecting more like Adobe Photoshop Elements or something more affordable...
My mom is a web designer who works at home and part-time for a company who supply her with Photoshop and Dreamweaver upgrades for free.:D
