Perhaps a silly question, but anyone here purposely sign up for more than one Namecheap account to spread their domains? Any advantage to this?

Thx,

As far as I know, you can have as many accounts as you want. I'm not sure what type of advantage this would give you. Maybe for security, in case somebody got access to the login info for one, you wouldn't have all your names in the same place? Or perhaps you could keep your personal domains in one account, and your business names (or names for sale) in another?

This is a common thing you would do if you are registering names on behalf of your clients. You would give certain clients access to certain accounts.

and maybe it is better to manage domains yourself? The control must be yours

Definitely its more safer to have different domains in separate accounts with different user name and passwords. A little cumbersome but its worth the effort.

Yeah it might be safer to have domains in different accounts, but for someone who only registers a few domain names a year, is it really worth it?
