We are a start-up web hosting company - looking for a part-time Los Angeles-based SysAdmin (mostly remote work) that will help us architect and set up our tecnical backbone including several VA Linux 2230 boxes, a NetApp F760 plus disks, a Foundry Fast Iron II as well as a Sun StorEDGE L280 Autoloader backup unit (equipment is already here). We plan on using Plesk on the VA's. We plan on going live in our LA downtown datacenter around the middle of February. You absolutely need to have massive FreeBSD web hosting and programming experience. You also need to be very comfortable with DNS/Bind, Perl, Foundry routers and switches as well as Network Applicance filers. Since we are a start-up we are definitely on a shoestring budget and look for someone that is "affordable". We can pay a monthly flat fee of $300-$500 in the beginning for someone that will become our technical, hands-on, go-to person. Payment will increase over the next 6 months as we get going.
