Hi,

I've been working on a very important design, which will include (once it's finished) a flash and a HTML web site, both manageable by the same PHP backed interface to create pages, modify menus, add news, etc. The page also includes dynamical sitemap, search engine and so on.

Now, this is to explain why there is no real content already; the 'internet' part has no content yet (only the top design... try the 'history' link to view TV/Internet in action). Some news test, some text here and there, I am only testing my system.

However, the design is up already (for the HTML site) and a flash demo is made. Keep in mind that this flash demo will be only for cable users, thus I am allowed to have a bigger file. It is not done yet, but the feeling is there ;)

http://s3.can-host.com/mcv for the splash & choice page... Please review both part and let me know ;)

Basically, the HTMl part must look professional but yet 'techno' (this is a cable company), the flash intro is a FFA, and the flash site will be between the 2.

So?

We don't get Flash in this part of the country, so of course I can't look at that.

But the HTML design -- I really like a lot of the work along the top... nice stuff.

For some reason, though, the blue strip along the side bothers my eye... not sure why. Either it's the color itself; or maybe the whole left side just needs some more breathing space.

By the way, that story on "AssAsdf" was a truly riveting piece of reportage.

yes... I'm not sure yet if I'll have a background (the blue stripe)... simply some lines or nothing at all.

And indeed, my news were pretty interesting, weren't they?

I would like to point outn that every text you see is taken directly from a MySQL database and generated dynamically ;)

IMHO, Felix, you should abandon all this technical nonsense and pursue a career as an investigative news reporter.

I would... but I don't like english enough to do that and if I do it in french, you'll never hear back from me, so...

Thanks for the great review etLux ;)

Felix, il y a beaucoup de gens ici qui parlent français. (Je ne suis pas un d'elles, naturellement.)

Translation in correct french (not too bad etLux!)

And you definately go out of topic a lot ;)

Anthing that expands the horizons of the reader should never be considered off topic.

Of course, then again, little of what I post ever actually does that -- so, my apologies... lol.

I'll take it that no news == good news.

It does not hurt the eye too much, does look professional enough?

Frankly, I was a little disappointed. Maybe because I was expecting something more impressive to be associated with your name :)

Anyway, I do think the html site looks a bit bland. Perhaps its the pure white background, and the site layout gives me the feeling I'm on some informative site rather than site of a corporation which offers high tech services. Overall not 'techno' enough, IMO. The flash part certainly looks more promising though.

ah! :)
Well that was mainly the goal... for slow users. I do like it though, but I agree that it is no flashy.

Well.. hmmm how do you make a corporation web site that looks white & professional?

Oh... and I am not such a 'professional' so I definately am not the best around in web designs :)

Felix, just a thought, but maybe busting the main page area up into two columns would break up some of that "bulletin board" feel a bit.
