Hi!

We have quite a reasonable amount of market share in our local web hosting market in Kolkata, India. We advertise in our local media and get satisfactory results.

We want to also advertise in the web for international market.

What are the best places to advertise other than Google Adwords?
with good ROI?

Waiting eagerly for your advice/suggestions.

Thanks in Advance.

I'd go for ISPCheck.com instead of google adwords, we've had better ROI through them but this may vary from company to company.

Overture, perhaps - www.overture.com. They run on the major networks.

Here's a pretty neat resource:

I would recommened Google AdWords. It produces better results than any other PPC available now-a-days.

I believe as long as a campaign gives positive ROI - it's a good campaign. Of course, campaigns producing higher ROIs deserve larger slice of the budget.

But sometimes, campaigns with the best ROI may not require a larger investment e.g. flat rate monthly advertising.

I've only ever paid for advertising once, and that was with a toplist company (your always inundated with ads on those things). I got quite a few from that. What works the best for me though are yahoo email groups (the groups I'm in allow it). I get the majority of my clients from there, which is good because I've already developed a rapport with them, so they know me. Plus a lot of my clients advertise me (completely on their own) on the main page of their sites so I get a lot that way as well. Right now the man my husband works for owns 2 nightclubs. His second one is very new and they do block parties with one of the Seattle radio stations here.. I traded him hosting for advertising me (short mention of my url and company, and also on fliers). Still getting that one off the ground though, but I think I might get a few from there.

It would probably be best just to ask/say this instead;

What is your hobby? One of my hobbies is pixel painting graphics in Pant Shop Pro... these are the types of email groups I belong to. Because I share a common interest (and because it's ok to announce what graphics you are selling in the groups) with others of like mind, this is where I do my subtle advertising (under a hand drawn graphic I use as my sig tag).

That is the best way that works for me as there are always new people joining those groups, learning to draw graphics, and wanting a web site to show off/sell their art. Find some groups that share your interests and find out if they allow advertising your site with a sig tag. After awhile, they will get to know you (and you them) and you'll get a few clients. ;)
