Few of my cpanel clients are not able to login to cpanel or ftp. Password reset doesn't help either, what should be done here.

check your shadow file owner permission. One of my server faced similiar problem few days ago.

the /etc/shadow should have the ownership of the root. If is has got changed then fire in

chown root:root /etc/shadow
