I am thinking about setting up a small web host just for fun. I am in need of some help though I downloaded a trial copy of Hosting Controller and it seems like a good program only problem is with it running on my Win2K Pro pc is after a few minuets of playing with admin settings or settings it gives me some error about to may connections I know that Win2K Pro has a 10 connection limit but I am the only one using it what’s up with that? Also what e-mail programs work well with this I plan on building a nice server (dual 1GHz P3s 1GB of ECC ram) and want to get everything working right. I would probably be able to learn a lot just by playing with it but it keeps locking up or whatever its doing. If someone would be willing to explain how to set it up correctly and use it properly that would be great. Thanks.

Errrr.... don't they have a manual, knowledge base, forum, support rep? I suppose you can ask users (of course) I was just wondering.

of coarse they do but do they provide support to someone who hasnt purchased it yet I would think not. Anyway about it giving me error about to many users connected I think its a Win2K Pro thing not a Hosting Contoller problem. IIS for Win2K Pro has a hardcoded limit of 10 connections if Hosting Controller was desighned to run on Win2K Server then I can understand why its giving me these errors. Im sorry I didnt clarify this earlyer but I am more interested in how to properly set this up and use it being I cant try it out for over 2 min untill I get my server running. I am looking for info on how to setup this program to use Domain X, with ip Y... Thanks. I opologize for not knowing more yet but I have been trying to get as much info about webhosting as I can and after 2 weeks Im almost on overload : ) I am really enjoying it though and cant wait to actually have my server running.

If they offer a trial copy, they may very well offer support for it. If you search for the term 'Hosting Controller' you might run across some posts with info about it, or at least some users which might be willing to let you pick their brain (eeeewwww) a bit to get things going.
