I have been watching this forum for almost a year now and I have finally got the money to start my own hosting biz. My question is whats the best way to start. Buy a dedicated server?? What host should I use??

Popular options seem to be Splashhost or MChost but these are not dedicated servers and bandwidth seems to be a bit low.
Any comments are suggestions are appreciated!!:) :) :) :) :)

trust me, when you start off you won't need a lot of bandwidth, (well that's for most people.)

I recomend you get a re-seller plan (like you said) instead of a dedicated server. Once you start getting more clients then you can upgrade to a dedicated server.

Hope this helped:)

Here is what I'm doing:

If you're any good at web design, find local businesses around town and ask them if they need a site designed. Then, design the site and offer to put a package together for them anywhere from 100-300 monthly with 1-8 hours of programming, updates, support included in the package.

This way, I am able to get a few high paying clients and offer them the luxury of having someone they can call close by for help with things. The rest of the projects are done with a build to order quote instead of hourly.
