if cpanel/whm is correctly set-up and running - it should be no problem to configure web hosts, pop3 and other things using the web browser..... Have you read Cpanel docs?

tx for replying... :)

I have been goin thru the user guides @ cPanel...tho i did get a hang of it..i'm not able to configure it..

many user guides available online give only a very brief explanation...i do not hav IM support @ FDC or else i wud have cleared my lilttle doubts with them...

can anyone suggest a gud step-by-step tutorial for configuring a VDS?

i'm trying to set up my VDS as its unmanaged... so its basically abt entering the right values in the right fields...

here's wat i hav done so far....

i have set up the name servers....

configured my domain as a nameserver...
set it in the WHM...
entered a few basic values...
set up an anonymous ftp..

wat shud i do next?

i want to use my VDS for 2 sites..

1-> a picture gallery..
2-> a web hosting site (dont laf :p)

how do i go abt things from here? i know it m8 sound a bit silly but its my first experience... :D

you just create two new hosting accounts in your WHM/CPAnel and there you go.... update your domain DNS to your new IPs (where you have DNS running) and when new DNS updates, you should be able to connect to your new sites via WWW

I think you should of went with a resellers account rather than a vps. Most of the stuff your stuck on are the baics in WHM.

Don't forget to point your nameservers to your ips. And domains to your nameservers.

1-> Create an account. Use CopperMine (coppermine.sourceforge.net) or find a script online (http://www.hotscripts.com/). Install it and there you go you have a picture gallery..

2 -> Create an account. Login to your ftp. (ftp=ftp.domain.com
Username = username Password = Password [Refers to what you set when you create the account])
Make a site using NotePad, Dreamweaver, FrontPage. Upload.
And there you go a web hosting site.
