I have never seen anything but great comments about cdgcommerce, so I decided to open an account with them.

First, it took 12 days to open my account. The initial app sat there for 4 days before they even looked at it!! Then, I found that the iTransact gateway would not work with Modernbill, so 2 days ago I called Kathy and I requested my gateway to be changed to EPN. She instructed me to open a support ticket to request the change, and that it would be completed within 24 hours. I opened the ticket while I was still on the phone with her.

2 days later and I have heard nothing. So I called Kathy. I let her know that I was upset, that my application was deployed 2 weeks ago and that I am still not functional and that they should not give a timeline for completion if they cannot honor it. She was very quiet, but polite, and asked for my phone number and told me someone would call me right back. I was not rude, but I did express my dissatisfaction.

Nobody has called and I believe the office hours are 9-5 Eastern time, which means nobody is calling.

I am very upset about this.

Am I the only one this is happening to (it seems to be happening this week with every company I have dealt with . Perhaps I just have a dark cloud following me this week?????), or have they just outgrown faster than they can keep up with?

I guess it's just me Scooter. Things like this are happening to me everywhere I go. From merchant accounts to server builds, you name it.

Maybe I should just crawl into bed and stay there until next week. :(

It is my understanding from our new accounts team (who will be working well into the evening) that all EPN gateway requests from the last 24-48 hours are being completed tonight... sorry for any delay that you experienced on that.

We changed around part of our process this week on those setups and long story short - it delayed a number of the most recent setup requests but that should be fully rectified tonight.

So - fear not... that "dark cloud" that has been following you around may yet turn into a nice sun-shiny day. ;)

PS - one other quick note... Kathy did give the timetable of 24 hours because that is what was relayed to her by me. I should have probably told her 48 hours in light of the process changes being made. So if anyone is at fault here, it is me - not Kathy or the rest of our staff. My sincere apologies on that. < hangs head in shame >

Chris,

Does "EPN" = eProcessingNetwork?

And, what's the difference in comparison to Authorize.net in regard to fees, use, etc?

Maybe you could come up with a comparision chart of all of the gateways available to us CDG users with information about the differences, similarities, compatibility modes, etc?

Please educate us, oh great merchant account guru!! :D

Yep, you are correct, Two-A-T. ePN = eProcessingNetwork. :)

Due to the forum TOS, I really can't discuss any matters of our specific pricing so I will just address your general question on the gateway feature set of ePN vs. other gateways.

To begin with, eProcessingNetwork has an Authorize.Net emulation mode that supports both the AIM & SIM integration methods - and thus, it is compatible with virtually all AuthNet applications which can be very handy.

eProcessingNetwork also has a built-in recurring billing system that can be initiated either from the virtual terminal OR via a Web form and it will handle your automated billings. So, for the hosting industry in particular, this can be a very useful feature.

In addition, eProcessingNetwork has several built in fraud protection tools which are very useful - including the ability to limit both a maximum # of declined or approved transactions from an IP within a certain timetable.

Naturally, it also has its own virtual terminal system and a complete API that can be used for any custom applications for those who are building a solution from the ground up.

Other nice value-adds is that you can setup ePN for wireless use with any number of cell phones or wireless PDA's... and you can even attach a USB mag stripe reader to your PC and run card present/swipe transactions through it at a store.

Thus, it has a very rich feature set which is definitely attractive and they seem to always be working on new features to add in.

eProcessingNetwork is also fully CISP-compliant and has been since the beginning of that program. The exact pricing on it will vary from one reseller to another but you can find general information on it at http://www.eprocessingnetwork.com

Hope that info is helpful and answers some of your questions!

That sounds nice... iTransact doesn't seem to cut it anymore (DDOS, but they're moving their equipment to TP), but we've got lots of recurring billing setup with the gateway. It would be hell to switch over...

Glad to hear you are all set, alrock. :)

One quick note on iTransact per Matt's comment above - since their first encounter with that wave of DDoS attacks they have substantially upgraded their system to deflect subsequent attacks of that nature, as well as finishing the migration to their new data center along with the dual data center redundancy that they had been planning for quite some time.

We have been keeping a close watch and ever since they implemented the above, there has been no down time at all from DDoS attacks.

The same has also been true from Authorize.Net on the same issue from what we have seen. It seems like both systems have built the necessary infrastructure to properly deflect these attacks at this point.

I am looking for a merchant account and this EPN sounds like a good setup. Does it work with WHMAutoPilot?

Also in addition to the hosting industry I run a moblie computer service business and this would be great if it would work on my cell phone. I have Nextel service, the i730 phone...would that setup work? How much does the card swiper run (if you can't say prices can you link me)?

Your company looks like a good find.

Thanks

Nevermind on that question about WHMAP. I just found it on a post you put somewhere else on the board.

Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the nice words. :)

ePN is compatible with all known Authorize.Net applications as long as you can change the POST URL to be different from the standard https://secure.authorize.net URL on the payment module.

Regarding wireless/mobile processing, it is definitely compatible with the i730 phone that you mentioned. In fact, here is a URL that goes to the complete list:
http://www.eprocessingnetwork.com/cellphone.html

Regarding the card swiper pricing, while I am not at liberty to discuss specifics here publicly, I do know that the wholesale cost is low on it and most resellers charge a very reasonable price for it.

I'll am planning to add a merchant account by the first of next year and so far you guys are at the top of my list. Keep up the good work and thanks for your quick response.
