I run my main server with TMS and been dealing with TP's overloaded network.
I run backups with LT and had the Savvis downtime plus a few network hiccups.
I run cpanel accounts at Servint and have had a couple downtimes plus now.

I should just move everything to AN :(

I can not tell you what a bad idea I think that is...

I'm joking :)

Just annoyed since ThePlanet, Savvis, and ServInt all had pretty good reputations here as far as their network quality.

mkc,

I would suggest searching around WHT for AN, you will find lots of feedback and then decide to go with them or not.

Kind Regards,

Mike

MKC,
Glad you came on here and followed up with your thoughts about ServInt. Coming on WHT and following up with a post is a good thing, you did well :)

Regardless of the short down time Savvis experienced recently, they are still a first class in my opinion.

I should just move everything to AN :( Stay I have a server at LT (in ThePlanet) and experienced the network issues you've had with TP's poor network condition as of last month, but haven't seen issues since they expanded capacity. Do A LOT of research into a company before moving any servers (not referring to your ANz joke). TP, BurstNET, DedicatedNow, Ezzi, Sagonet, FDC, LayeredTech (through Savvis), LiquidWeb, ServInt (not budget in my opinion), Dinix, Managed.com, Alabanza (high-end, servers for webhost), have all had network or power issues in the past 2 months.

Well I can add SERVINT back on the list of providers that crapped out on me this month.

And to make matters worse, my VPS with defenderhosting is currently dead along with the servint one. Hardware problem on the host server, not a network problem though...

But yeah... downtime with tms (tp), lt (savvis), servint and defenderhosting. I think bad luck is following me... sorry hosts :(

You are having a bad month, I have a server at LT, and did well with the downtime, gave me a chance to test out my dns failover which worked great.

ServInt's down due to an MCI fiber issue in their part of Virginia... I'm still shocked that a high-end, managed provider, would rely on one single bandwidth provider, as well as a single fiber provider. That leaves 2 places on their network with single points-of-failure.

I brought this up earlier and people got on my case about it... To me it doesn't make sense. You want to cut down on the single points of failure, and they've simply failed to do that with two HUGE ones.

Downtime seems to follow me... any hosts want to pay me to sign up with their competitors? :-D

LT (savvis) fluttering now. At least its just a backup server.

<edit>The savvis downtimes are short enough that I wouldn't notice or really care if I didnt run minute monitoring off nagios :)</edit>
