Yeah, I'm not sure who the other person you're talking about is (might be from before I knew of the band), but Jen Durkin left some months ago. She was ultra-spectacular, but DBB is still worth hearing -- and seeing!

Jen, by the way, is still around appearing with a couple of different groups. I saw her with Bernie Worrell last year, and she's also a regular with both the Conscious Underground and the Bomb Squad -- which I hope to see for my pre-birthday celebration with my friend Nikki at The Downtown on Long Island on Saturday.

Also anyone from the NYC area who likes DBB might want to look for Mother Freedom (the NY band, not the English one of the same name)... although apparently they are now without the mesmerizing Leslie Mendelson on vocals/keyboard, so I'm not convinced they'll be anywhere near what they were.

Did you happen to catch them with Jen and the other guy (name escapes me at the moment, for some reason Allan comes to mind, but that might not be right). If I get really ambitious, I might try to capture some video I have of them and upload it one day. They used to have MP3's on the site (not sure if they still do), full length, worth the download. I haven't seen/heard them without Jen.

Sax (rob) and the trombone guy I've seen, plus they went in and out continually, but there are some new people that don't look familiar. I happened to catch them at the House of Blues somewhat recently (couple years ago), but aside from that, it has been years since I used to go see them every Thursday night.
