Hello,

I'm setting up modernbill right now. I came accross anniversary vs monthly billing. Which one do you think would be best for resellers + shared accounts?

this scenario is for Anniversary billing:

Here's the scenario for 8$ shared plan.

customer orders the shared plan since he saw that the plan costs 8$ at the 15th of the month.

modernbill calculates the total=>4$ for the next 15 days plus 8$ for next month.

customer scares after seeing 12$ even though its for 1.5 months.

customer goes to a competitor.

this scenario is for Monthly billing:

there is really no scenario for this. But this option requires constant attention and I think produces more problems.

What are your thoughts on this?

Monthly is how most hosts do it.

If customer signs up on the 23rd, then they get billed on the 23rd of each month.

The only reason to pro-rate and use monthly billing is to make things easy for the billing department to manage. (ie: all bills are processed on the same day, resulting in less work for the remainder of the month.)

However, if you are using a high quality billing system, then the system should manage most of this for you...

I voted for Anniversary billing.
