Maybe the new owner put ddihosting.net directly to their real hosting site. PogiWeb 11-03-2004, 10:30 AM I thought ddihosting was having some NS issues Hands-on Mark 11-03-2004, 08:20 PM ? DDI hosting is Digital Dreams, Inc. D - Digital D - Dreams I - Inc. I dont think they are sold. subodhm 11-04-2004, 04:55 AM i contacted their customer support on phone for a refund and they forwarded me to www.surfspeedy.com/cancellation.htm . I don't know what's going on at ddi. i have moved all my sites away though. NeoGen 11-04-2004, 08:57 AM Originally posted by subodhm i contacted their customer support on phone for a refund and they forwarded me to www.surfspeedy.com/cancellation.htm . I don't know what's going on at ddi. i have moved all my sites away though. I cancelled about a month back and still now no sign of any refund. If you talk to them a.k.a surfspeedy.com, they loop you in long circle and again you will come to same place. For refund they are asking for scanned or faxed copy of the credit card (front and back). I am surprised what are they upto. Good I moved my sites on time, before they crashed and drowned into a Fish tank with all surfing speed. subodhm 11-05-2004, 12:03 AM just going to go ahead with the cancellation and see how my luck goes TRIBOLIS 11-05-2004, 12:47 AM There was a thread somewhere here, someone or mods posted about DDI Hosting that Larry (owner) was no longer and SurfSpeed came to post about it. That's what I remember. subodhm 11-05-2004, 01:32 AM what do you mean no longer? has he gone to heaven :D NeoGen 11-05-2004, 01:38 AM Originally posted by subodhm what do you mean no longer? has he gone to heaven :D No he has gone in a fish tank.:D means Larry is no longer in charge of DDI subodhm 11-05-2004, 01:51 AM lets say ddi hosting has been taken over by surf speedy. Surf speedy has Linux plans and no windows plans. I had a windows plan with ddi. Surf speedy doesn't advertise any windows plans on their website so they can't be very good with windows hosting. NexDog 11-05-2004, 03:58 AM A host is only as good as its admins so I would assume SurfSpeedy has employed some qualified Windows admin to look after that side. Plesk for Windows is somewhat a quagmire so I hope they have some talent there. subodhm 11-05-2004, 04:36 AM anyway i've transferred all my domains to hostnexus. I hope i don't have to worry about qualified admins over there :D NexDog 11-05-2004, 04:52 AM No problem there. We've invested heavily in our Windows service. In the servers, in the support, in the software. I've learned alot over the years and learned alot from bad mistakes and know how to build a decent model that is self-sustaining and won't end up being a liability so clients suffer. :) TRIBOLIS 11-05-2004, 05:15 AM Originally posted by NeoGen No he has gone in a fish tank.:D means Larry is no longer in charge of DDI Thanks! I was about to say "Larry was no longer owner of DDIHosting". Shaw Networks 11-06-2004, 09:38 PM Has anyone found an announcement discussing the buyout? Generally speaking, the customers should have been notified first of such a buyout. The website has changed from what it used to be. IrdHost 11-07-2004, 10:43 AM I was a personal website on ddihosting windows server... A bad idea! More info about DDihosting, surfspeedy and now Frontier Ventures!!! emeric: Hello, i was disconnected Cassie: yeah emeric: Can you resend the name of your company? Cassie: as I was saying Cassie: ddihosting is not connected with surfspeedy Cassie: it is Frontier Ventures Cassie: Surf Speedy is only a subsidiary of Frontier Ventures and is totally separate from DDIs former or would be management. emeric: I must contact who to get my site online? Cassie: is your domain hosted in DDI or surfspeedy Cassie: ? emeric: with ddihosting... but i see on wht that surfspeedy was the new owner... My website is down since 1 week and all my 6 emails to ddihosting is not responded!! Cassie: please contact their support then Cassie: we do not provide support for DDI hosting Cassie: im sorry FHDave 11-07-2004, 12:50 PM You host your personal website on another host, while being a host yourself? Surely you are more than capable to host your own websites? No? IrdHost 11-07-2004, 07:31 PM I can host it in our servers, like my other personal websites. But this website is used to check the status of our servers each minute. I think that we will buy a another server in a other network to avoid this problem again. NexDog 11-07-2004, 10:26 PM Definitely pays to have your own server in a different data center where you can host all your own sites. We have been doing this for a few years and it has been very helpful in instances such as when NAC had outages or when DedNow moved to FortressITX. Our main server is at EV1 which is an excellent choice if your servers are elsewhere. IrdHost 11-08-2004, 12:19 AM yeah, i think is the best choice. subodhm 11-08-2004, 01:30 AM Still no news about my refund. What's the whole deal. Does Surfspeedy own DDI now? Anyone from Surfspeedy care to throw any light on the issue? |
