Certain TLD's only   Dave Zan 11-01-2004, 03:13 PM That tidbit you saw might have something to do with this (http://www.icann.org/financials/budget-fy04-05-06oct04.html) . Everyone loves a sale! :D Just wait 'til they find out what happens if they don't conform to Go Daddy's standards... eSology 11-01-2004, 03:15 PM $8.70* plus .25 ICANN fee = marketing ploy = normal price = $8.95 4solutions 11-01-2004, 03:32 PM Wow! That was an interesting link to ICANN's budget, DaveZan. ICANN is almost doubling their budget from $8.3 MILLION dollars to $15.3 MILLION dollars! You can't even get them to respond to an email, but they are spending almost $2.5 MILLION dollars on an outreach program for "Ensuring, on a global basis, an opportunity for participation in the ICANN process by all interested parties." Talk about milking the masses and building another grandiose bureaucracy... :( dmaven 11-01-2004, 03:37 PM just a trick by godaddy to give the impression of lower prices. I imagine other registrars might try to copy them. Dave Zan 11-01-2004, 04:47 PM Originally posted by 4solutions Wow! That was an interesting link to ICANN's budget, DaveZan. And oh, I meant sale, shmale! :) Speaking of which, I once emailed ICANN about their new transfer policies. Believe it or not, they replied after almost a month. :D 4solutions 11-01-2004, 04:59 PM Originally posted by davezan Speaking of which, I once emailed ICANN about their new transfer policies. Consider yourself one of the chosen. :D gghosting 11-01-2004, 05:20 PM The sale price comes to the same price for a domain name with the 25 cent ICANN fee. shomy 11-02-2004, 09:52 AM Yes, now they are selling domains with $.25 separated from the domain price. Apparently this will last till the end of November, then it will be again old price + ICANN fee. So hurry up if you want to save $.25 per domain year...;) Bashar 11-06-2004, 02:13 PM what a trick :D there been always ICANN fees, why no one played this trick earlier heheit just got raised! |
