It was a blow to the gut to get a call from my boss saying, You do great work, but unfortunately we no longer need your services x_x Of course they *could* warn a person... we all sat on a conference call asking about our job stability and got the answer... No no, we're set for the next 3 years, no one is going to be fired. Three weeks later they fired all the contractors on the same day, how awful is that?! bitter much? ochiba ^_~ Haze 01-29-2002, 09:42 PM It seems to be a growing fad not to inform employee's of impending danger lately. DigitalXWeb 01-29-2002, 10:49 PM This has been coming for awhile now, it's sad to see but it happens.. TheGAME1264 01-30-2002, 01:00 PM when someone's rights to stay informed of a situation are breached, such as they app[ear to be in ochiba's case. Now I do realize that you stated that you are a contract worker: however, they should have still given you at least two weeks' warning and possibly some job hunting help. As far as "impending danger" is concerned, my own personal belief is this: there are many large companies (particularly in technical-based industries) that have a bloated, underqualified staff, insufficient technical resources, and insolvency issues. It's only a matter of time before they all are revealed. (Oh how I love making dark, jaded predictions.) |
