I would like to become a reseller, but i feel that most are reasonable high for me to get started, b/c i have limited funds. I only need a 10 meg, at least 1 gig transfer, dont care for email, CGI a plus not required for under 10 dollars. email is chrisdildy@hotmail.com or post offers here.

I am an idiot, under 10 dollars is crazy. Anyway thanks to everyone who helped. $30 bucks seems to be the average.

Another thing to learn for today : never start out cheap in reselling.

If you're absolutely desperate, you could try http://www.webexpose.net or http://www.below10host.com but you'd still have some initial start up costs anyway.

Well, since this is the advertisements forum and you asked for replies to be posted here, I guess I might as well chime in! :)

I would recommend looking into JTAN (www.jtan.com). We are currently in the process of "officially" setting up our reseller plan, but we have had it up and running for a while now.

You can buy a ProShell account for $99/yr and then have full rights as a reseller. Reselling at JTAN is actually more like a referral plan. For each account you signup, you receive 5% of that account. You get your own customized order form. You can signup ProWeb, ProShell, and even dedicated servers. As you can imagine, this would be quite a commission for the higher priced servers.

And the best part is you don't need to bill your customers or provide technical support. JTAN does all of the work. You are simply the middleman and get them signed up. Then we take care of them from there. And you still receive the commission for their first year of service.

If you are interested, I would suggest either posting any questions here or e-mailing me at vince@jtan.com, because like I said, you won't find much on our site yet. But you can check out our different plans which you can resell. ;)

=====

As a side note, you do not have to work on a commission base. You could see our ProWeb accounts for $50 a month and make that extra $27/mo. In that case, you would have to handle billing and technical support obviously, as we would be kept out of the loop.

And as the last side note, some don't find the "no limited disk space" for the ProShell account to be legit. I don't want to get into another debate about that here, but if you wanted to, you could just as easily go and market it to be 500MB of space or some figure which you like. You don't have to sell exactly what are plans are, as long as you don't promise more than we offer!!!! :)

And, um, one more side note. I actually started with JTAN myself as a "reseller." I resold the ProShell accounts. It was actually quite successful. So successful I couldn't keep track of the accounts by myself anymore, so I merged in all of my accounts to JTAN. :)

Hi there -

I am very flexible about all the services we offer. Maybe you should send an email (this applies to everyone) to:

david@hostireland.com

And I will do my best to offer you what you want. There are no fixed rule books and I am very open to customizing something for you.

Best Regards

There are some companies that will allow you to become a reseller without having a large account. They work with you as your hosting company grows, charging by the customer. Thus you startup costs and overhead are much smaller then jumping into an account when you don't even have your first customers onboard yet.

Feel free to contact me via email or phone directly if you have any questions starting up your own business. And good luck with it.
