I have around 5 domains I want to move to godaddy.

1and1 are awful. Support wont get back to me. And I'm being overcharged. I've had to get my bank to block them, and I'm sure I'll get some legal **** come soon. I need to move my domains and tell them where to go!!


How do I start a move? Could you explain

Moved to Domain Name Discussions :) I am not familiar with either registrar so can't advise.

contact your new registrar for the begining

1. Log into your account at 1and1, and make sure names are unlocked
2. Visit GoDaddy and click link (Transfers $7.95) or visit HERE (https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/transfers/landing.asp?) directly.

Its easy. Just make sure your admin emails (at both registrars) are correct so you can make the verifications, as needed.

Almost forgot to mention... you cannot transfer any name until at least 60 days have passed since registration. ;)

My domains are locked!!

How can I unlock them?

Are you domain names 60 days old yet?

yes, ive had some of them for a few years.

All of them are older than 60 days.

Also none of them are nearing expiry.

To unlock, log in and check your account options under security I would guess (I am not familiar with 1and1)

By default are domains on godaddy locked or unlocked?

By default domains are unlocked.

Actually, with 1&1, by default all domains transfered/registered to us are locked.

Also, if you had processed a transfer of the domain or renewed within the last 60 days, regardless of the unlock, you will still not be able to transfer the domain to another registrar.

lol @ domains are unlocked on GoDaddy. It shows as unlocked but in reality - its different...

It was so damn hard to transfer my domains from them...

I never recommend Godaddy to my friends just cause its so hard to transfer the name away from them
