If you are running a business in Wisconsin and would be willing to share some information about business structure and taxes associated with running a LLC in Wisconsin, please email, pm or post to this thread.

I am investigating what is needed to establish a LLC and would appreciate any information you could provide about what the legal requirements are in Wisconsin and your expriences so far.

Thanks.

The above suggestion won't work. According to everything I have read, you need to be physically located and working a large percentage of the time, in the state in which you have your business located. Many of the forms alone, do not allow PO boxes when completing forms for DBA, registering as a LLC, Sales and Use tax permits. It's a great idea, but is not legal.

Hi,

I'm not sure, but according to what I read, you can Inc. or form an LLC in tax free Delaware or Nevada (Nevada is more tax free) if you have a registered agent working on your behalf in that state. Registered agents charge something like 100$-200$ / year and they will forward state's official mail to your mailbox (usually for free).

Search google for "Incorporate in Nevada", you'll find lots of info. and services.

Well, a quick call to the secretary of state for Nevada kind of cleared up some of the confusion. You are not tax free in Nevada or Delaware unless you incorporate in one of these states, actually operate your business in this state and your employees live in this state, otherwise you don't see any of the tax benefits.

IIRC, by incorporating as a LLC in Delaware - it wouldn't be tax-free but your company can be taxed at a parternship level rather than at a corporation level.

You might wanna check a similar thing, an S-Corp, but that's for corporations. I think it's available in all states.
