I'm pretty sure most of the VDI based hosts offer adult content (site5.com, ultraspeedusa.com, dids.com, etc.), but you'd have to email them to be sure.

Also yes, anything@yourdomain.com = catchall

dids.com.....We do not host adult sites nor any site that links to adult related material or sites....

know of anymore? xxxhosting wants 50 a month for 15GB and with a new site i don't think i would ever use that when im just starting out.

apace do you know if adult sites are required to have a Warning page before getting to the free pics or not? I looked on some adult resources but never could find out. I want to do every thing legal!

Slick, $50 for 15 Gig adult site is a very good deal. Adult plans are more expensive than non-adult. The reason of course is that they consume more bandwidth, and the overselling formula the host uses wouldn't apply. If you look around you will see adult plans are priced at 4 x bandwidth or 5 x bandwidth. the $50 is only 3.3 x bandwidth, which in my opinion is a good deal.

Here is a website with some adult resources. http://www.69spot.com
There is also a forum with guys and gals who will help you out with the adult area.

To be on the safe side, I always use an enterance page with links to netnanny, and cybersittter. It also lets the surfer know that this is an adult website and if they choose, they can enter or leave.

I think it is a bit more tasteful. If I was a mother suring the internet with my children, I would appreciate this type of enterance page. I keep them smut free and I keep the dialog on the enterance page dirty-word-free.

The hosting company I have referred is the best I have found. I did a year of research before I got into the adult area. If you need any help or more info in this area, email me. It is kind of a touchy subject on a non-adult board.

Sorry about dids Slick, I didn't check it. Also note that there are a few newer hosts here who are using VDI (spider is an example), which may allow the content, but I agree- $50 for 15Mb and 15Gb seems to be a good deal.

I always like self-promoters trying to get away with sneaky promos.... ;)

This is not a field where you try ot out and see how things go. You either make a committment to do it or forget about it. It is also not a field for cheapskates or people who don't want to work.

I was acquainted with someone who had an adult site and she told me how much work it was and what was involved.

Yes. The actual format in virtusertable is @domain which means that anything sent to that domain name will get through.

William,

Uhm, VDI owns pornhost.net? If so then I might have to consider asking you to remove the post (for the self-promotion)....

Contrary to popular belief, "Build it and they will come" is a false premise, even in the adult world. I have done site work for adult sites in the past and many of them were well-kept secrets in the web. MANY adult sites collapse for lack of interest.

We've got some busy sites up on autson.com

Very good on value, and the multiple domains come in handy when you take into consideration the censorship laws "Big Brother" (aka the Australian government) initiated this year.
