I would like to know how Perfect the HostingControler is ? of www.advcomm.net

I bought a server :http://www.hp.ca/products/static/d9103a/features-en.html

and would like to equiped it with some sort of good software :flamethr: for Hosting .. Suggest me. what is the Best and Cheapest I can Get. Plus. No compromise on Security and Reliability..

Also Looking for some help from Linux gurus and Freelancers.. Please share your comments.

People have very strong opinions on HostingController. I'd say that the current version 1.4.1 ( patched ) is pretty decent - at least as a end-user CP and reseller CP. Slow but it does what it's supposed to, more or less.

For server admin Terminal Services is always best :)

HC is the only option within reasonable price for Windows.

Yeah I know. I just spent $500 on it and it's crap so far. V.2 better be a lot better or I've just spent $500 which could have been put towards something better.

Hosting Controller works very well with windows internal ftp service (IIS ftp service).

It can use Merak Mailserver (Minimum $200) which has both web mail and wap support.

It comes with free webalizer for windows which will enable you to give free statistics for your users.

For comparison I put some prices here:

MDaemon 5.0 Unlimmited : $990
Serv-U ftp: $???
Mediahouse live Stats: $????

You see you will be able to prepare a server with under $900 ready to serve your customers without buying much additional software.

I have worked with Hosting Controller and found it very well.

Just two complaints. It does not show used bandwisth (neither for users nor for you) but someone has written an addin script for this.

Second it does not support Domain Parking and you must use another hosting account and configure it to redirect web requests to your main domain (mail parking will not be simulated in this way).
