Has anybody else noticed Splash Host's new website? Or am I just a bit late in noticing? :)

It's a great improvement. Well done to Alan!

Yeah! good design....

But, did you notice a major change in their policy from "unlimited domains" to "Host Many Domain Names"? :D

This post is not a proper place to debate about Netscape Vs IE, but I definitely feel that NS is a better browser (though I use IE just because it's bundled with my OS CD, and I use dial-up connection with an expensive per hour/minute rate and so it's not possible for me to download NS all the times. ).

Potential customers?

I'm surprised that Alan let his site go live without testing it in NN4+.

If he is entirely ignoring NN4+ (he will positively not get any customers who view his site in NN), he is being niave.

If not, its very sloppy to make it live like this. It sends out the wrong signals entirely on his part.

This sort of 'oversight' is accepted for hobby sites - not for commercial sites.

Sarah.

Geez, it was a mistake and yes an over sight by me and my designer. Time to go and download netscape.

Those guys are talking about the old, old Netscape 4.x

I've checked the site with Opera, looks fine. But I think the bottom is kinda weird (it looks like the left part of the table is on the right hand and viceversa).
You could check it ;) The fastest Browser on Earth (www.opera.com)

Schumi3

ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/english/4.79/windows/windows95_or_nt/

as easy as that ;)

It's me again: I thought I'd post what I've meant with the inversed sites in the "rebel" browser ;) (I coudn't edit my old post, because when editing, you can't upload a picture...)

There is no such thing as unlimited and at $0.50 per domain you can't complain.

Netscape problem should be fixed now.

A big thanks goes to HostIT

no problemo :)

just be sure you remember to sort out those little order form issues when you get a chance, otherwise you'll have NS people agreeing to blank terms and conditions when they sign up hehe

and btw, this doesn't mean everyone can now ask me to make their site cross-browser compatible :D

oh yeah i see your netscape warning message on the order form :)

I like the new design, but there's a couple of problems. I'm using Mozilla for Linux, and most of the pages (every page except the home and reselling page) have parts of the left border missing. Also, the message "NETSCAPE USERS: You will not be able to order using netscape, please use internet explorer to order. Thanks" is discouraging to people like me that only use Linux.

Well its better to have a notice than no notice until i fix it.

According to our logs around 0.8 percent actually :D To be honest it's not worth the extra time and expense to make our own site compatible for Netscape, and many designers I know feel pretty much the same way. Unless the site literally explodes in that browser, I wouldn't worry about the change too much.
