Has anyone used these guys for adverting?
http://www.hostchart.com

We keep getting ripped off by small directories who stat they get certain traffic, then when you run an add, you get 1% of the traffic they advertised.

Any word would be appreciated.

We already use webhostdir, hostsearch, C|net. Now we just need a few more places. :)

I think they have been around for a while now. I don't know much about their traffic, though.

Here are a few directories which I am *pretty sure* are of high quality:

FindSP.com
TopHosts.com
WebHostDir.com
AceHosts.com
HostIndex.com
HostPulse.com
HostSearch.com
FindMyHost.com

There are a lot of shady directories out there, just like any
business. My advice is ask for proof of where they advertise
their sites, or proof of their traffic (screen shots of statistics
or even logins to the stats themselves, though not everyone
will go for this second option.)

Either way, good luck to you.

I used them. Not great results, but I have not had much luck with directories. Overall it was average.

Please post the URL of your company so we could advice you better.

Hi WebInt,

To protect yourself you can always ask the directory to sign an agreement whereby there are clauses that cover underdelivery of campaigns. Also ask for third party audited ad delivery, that will ensure your ads really are getting (or not) the number of impressions the directory claims.

Also it's not always necessary to find other sites to advertise on, you can always increase your spend with the ones you are happy with.

As for HostChart, I know the owner and he has worked with us at Webhostdir a few times before. From my experiences I've alwyas found him to be an honest person with sound business principles. Mention my name and ask for a discount (you never know, it might just work ;) )
