Anyone have experience adding the trellix web based site creation tool to their servers?

It seemes to me that the license was expensive, but it looks like a good tool to offer your customers.

Ayone using it & what kind of costs could one expect in licensing it?

That was my experience when looking at it as well. I would advise looking at Site Studio as an easy inexpensive tool.

my webhosting company has just implemented trellix for our customers........it looks to us that trellix has the ability to create a very nice revenue stream..........there is a company that can deliver a trellix solution economically for smaller webhosting companies.......the company is topline ventures out of toronto.........they are the only company that i know of that can deliver the trellix solution economically for the smaller isp :)

Wow,

$750 set up plus $5 bucks a MONTH for each website, 20 minimum. Thats a pretty big percentage of monthy income. VS Site builder. hmmm I think I'll try site builder for a total of $225 installed for 100 sites no Monthly.

Thanks for the info though.

Hi Everyone-

How has the overall satisfaction been with Trelix (from your stand point and the consumer standpoint?)

How does their software interface with your servers?

Thanks

actually my company was in on the ground floor with topline ventures in their integration of trellix to isp's........most everything is handled on the topline trellix platform itself..........the only real things the isp needs to do on their end is download image files to run on the webserver hosting the trellix sites.....topline has a great interface for administration......it also has a tools menu where the isp can get login blocks and everything else they need to make trellix work on their own website.....and the beautiful thing is that they are making improvements every day :)

Hi there ironweb-

How does it publish a site? Over FTP?

How does it handle "gems"? Do you install something similar to frontpage extensions to execute gems?

How are the designs?

What was the cost and URL?

Thanks.

Chris,

As the chief integrator and developer at Topline Ventures, I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Publishing is done via FTP. The sites are generated and maintained on our servers, then published to your webservers using the information you provide for FTP in each user record.

Since the only thing you need to install on your webservers is the image library (and the need to do this will be disappearing shortly), all Trellix Web Gem content is added into the sites on our servers. The during the publishing process, the sites are converted to standard web languages (html, javascript) prior to FTP publish. This emiminates the need for you to configure your servers with anything special.

The designs? I think they are great, and there is quite a good selection of templates to choose from. Also, most templates have interchangable layouts. I'll let ironweb handle this question because I am biased ;)

Greg,

Is there a specific processor that has to be enabled on a host's servers to allow eCommerce enabled sites to work such as asp, php, etc.

If any of these are are required I'd prefer it be php;however, if asp is required, would a ChiliSoft version be compatible out the box?

Wow, it's been quite some time since I have been to this forum, sorry for the slow response :)

Trellix Web Express does not require any specific server side processing. The published catalogs are entirely HTML and can be configured for use with a PayPal backend.
