If it doesn't work, try: chattr -i -R /usr/local/frontpage ;) ljprevo 01-28-2002, 06:32 PM I don't know how true this is, but I heard rumors that Microsoft diliberatly made it harder to install the new FrontPage Ext. on Unix or Linux machines. To gain market share with the Win 2000 Servers. Anyone know if this is true? But all that fixed it is reinstalling the Frontpage extensions and it worked fine after that. Wasn't too much of a hassle. getweb 01-28-2002, 08:04 PM I've been running FP2002 extensions on Apache 1.3.20 with not a problem for a few months now, about 75 sites. I don't think install was difficult, but I'm also a coder, patching and compiling is smooth for me. Someone could be a newbie and actually try it. MCHost-Marc 01-29-2002, 12:16 AM Originally posted by Skeptical I don't think it's a good idea to post such commands in a forum. It fixes what CPanel sometimes screws up during an update. :D getweb 01-29-2002, 01:02 AM Originally posted by Kiwi Do you know what that command actually does? To our viewers, that of course would toast your whole frontpage directory. Best not to joke about that cause somebody will try it. :D Or at least give a disclaimer. "Don't actually type this." priyadi 01-29-2002, 03:08 AM For those who offer Frontpage 2002 on Linux/UNIX, you should wait for 'improved frontpage extension patch' (http://home.edo.uni-dortmund.de/%7Echripo/). The project appears to be dead, but there is a preliminary patch in the forum. I personally wouldn't use the apache module supplied by Microsoft, it caused too much grief in the past. Was trying to quote the rm -f one. |
