ReliableServers 01-28-2002, 05:08 PM I am looking for sugestions as to which providers people recommend to setup a multihomed network with.(BGP4) I am looking for 2 providers to pair together. Thanks RackMy.com 01-28-2002, 05:19 PM I think some really nice ones are UUNet, AT&T & Sprint. I will be interested to hear what others think :) jayglate 01-28-2002, 07:21 PM Genuity is coming along really nice. allan 01-28-2002, 08:20 PM According to a new report released by In-Stat the top three backbones at the end of 2000 were: 1. WorldCom (UUNET+MCI) -- 44% Market Share 2. Genuity (old BBN) -- 12.5% Market Share 3. Sprint -- 9.4% Market Share My guess is that AT&T and either Cable and Wireless or Qwest round out the top 5 (I didn't want to pay $1900 for the full report :D). INT Media Research conducted a similar study in July of 2001, and came out with: 1. WorldCom (UUNET+MCI) -- 25% Market Share 2. Sprint -- 19% Market Share 3. Qwest -- 9% Market Share Again, they don't explicitly list them, but I imagine the top 5 are rounded out by AT&T and Cable & Wireless or Genuity. Both reports found that the top 10 backbones control more than 90% of the market. ReliableServers 01-29-2002, 03:30 AM Ok thanks for the feedback :) |
